Really, Cashier?

So on Saturday morning I was up at 4:30 a.m. sewing and listening to some Christmas music to help me along, and I heard the song about the little boy who wanted to buy his mom some shoes...  I have listened to this song for several years, but it struck me as I was listening to it this time that what cashier in their right mind would tell that little boy, "I'm sorry there's not enough here"?!??!!?  Really, cashier?  I don't think so.  You just let the little dirty boy with the dying mother have the shoes!

Haha... working diligently on finishing up my final projects.  (Obviously sleep deprived.)  Wish me luck... I'm going to need it!

Puppy Love

With only 10 days left until Christmas I find myself, once again, down to the wire with my Christmas crafting.  I am (of course) loving the crafting and sewing and getting the chance to design new stockings... but there is an issue this year that I have not been faced with in past years... and that issue is named Bentley.  All it takes is just one look at that face and I find myself playing with toys and tennis balls and bones rather than working diligently at my sewing machine.  I thought I would share my predicament with you all.  I mean, come on!  :)

Baby Quilt for Lilli

My very sweet sister called me today and told me that she published my blog site to 650 people on Facebook, then she shared with me her mad skills about internet marketing and informed me that I just HAD to post a blog today.  Since I wanted to post a picture of my latest project anyway, I figured I'd be a good sister and follow her advice.  This is a "well wishes" signiture baby quilt for a very sweet little girl.  I took fabric squares and fabric markers to a baby shower with me and had everyone write their wishes for the baby.  Then I put it together in this quilt for baby Lilli.  I hope she enjoys it for many years to come.

Homemade Christmas Stockings Galore

So on Black Friday this year, my wonderful mother went out with me at 12:30 a.m. to stand in line for a new computer.... (that apparently no one else wanted).  But, with our insane dedication and waiting for 4 1/2 hours with my hand on a computer box, I was able to finally get a new computer!  With the help of my very talented and generous friend "Scott Jackie" I now have all of my old documents on my new computer.  Which means... *drum roll please* that I have pictures of my first homemade Christmas stockings to share!  Below are my Christmas stockings from 2008.

Oh, Christmas Tree!

It's enough to make someone want to sing.  Oh, who am I kidding?  I've been listening to Christmas music since November 1st.  It is my favorite time of year.  The weather is colder, snow days are around the corner, all the stocking orders are in (not finished... but in!), and Christmas is almost here.  For me, Christmas means family, friends, sewing like crazy, and this year... putting up my first Christmas tree.  With the help of Harles Barkley, I now have one of the most beautiful Christmas trees I have ever seen.  All it needs is a fabulous new tree skirt and some beautifully wrapped gifts.

Endings and Beginnings

With the end of 2010 quickly approaching, I decided it was time for me to get with the 20th century and get a blog going!  It is my hope that I can use this blog as an opportunity to show off some of my favorite hobbies (and if I happen to sell something, even better).  One of my many 2011 resolutions is to work on crafting more.  I am working on stocking orders for this Christmas, so those pictures will be coming soon.  For now, enjoy this diaper cake that I made for a friend of mine.  And Kim and Lilli, I promise the baby quilt is on it's way!
